CaptainSim B757 / B767 issue with AP LNAV and HDG

I recently had a lot of issue with the Autopilot of CaptainSim aircrafts (B757, B767, and even the B777).

When I started the LNAV or HDG  it stopped working after a tight turn and continuously flying in circle. what make me crazy after a lot time in CaptainSim’s forum to understand what happened.

Finally I found why…

As I have multiple devices (Yoke and Joystick)  I do not activate the Joystick in FS and use only FSUIPC to control my devices (and I removed any axis control from the FS control) .
But with CaptainSim aircraft, it may appears a conflict between Yoke and Jostick and I realized that an issue of sensitivity could cause the issue as well.

So… I finally activated the control of the joystick in FS control Center. But I have configured ONLY the Aileron Axis and Elevator axis from there and only for the yoke. All other controls for my other joystick are removed and only set in FSUIPC.

And the other point is to reduce the sensitivity and increase the null zone. (sorry my FS is in French… but the position keep the same), your plane doesn’t know what control to take. Sofs-control

Last point is configuring FSUIPC.

When you are parked with your CaptainSim aircraft at your favorite airport, start FSUIPC.

Go to “Axis Assignment” and select “Profile Specific?” to activate the configuration ONLY for your current aircraft (what will not impact the configuration for your other aircraft).

Then press Rescan for each  Aileron Axis and Elevator axis , select “Send to FS as normal axis” and remove the control if any and let it blank. (check the FSUIPC manual in case you need more information) this will remove any conflict you could have with your CaptainSim aircraft and Joystick.

Voilà… This resolved my AP LNAV and HDG issues with CaptainSim aircaft. I hope this will help you. When I flight with other birds, I uncheck the “Enable controller” from the FS Joystick Control Center.

New pictures from our Mission in Antarctica

Fort de France TFFF – FDF,
Saint-Lucia TLPC – SLU,
Port-of-Spain TTPP – POS,

Punta Cana MDPC – PUJ

Mission to Antarctica finally able to take off

Boeing B767-300 HB-DDK has been finally dispatched to St. Maarten to replace our B757-200 HB-DDC.
The bird is able to carry the 9 tons of materials and 30 peoples to McCurdo Airport.

With the B767-300 we are also able to reduce the number of flight and can fly directly to Ushuaia – Malvinas Argentinas International Airport SAWH.

Mission to Antarctica delayed

Due to a technical issues with our B757-200 HB-DDC, the mission to Antarctica must be delayed.

Starting from Geneva LSGG to LPMA Madeira, multiple issues occurred from the autopilot few minutes before the descent. Technicians from Madeira tried to figure out the problem what caused 1 day delay regarding the agenda.

Took off 1 day after from Madeira direction St. Maarten TNCM, the flight was perfect except the delay of one hour due to the wind and hard turbulences. Arrived at 20:22 pm at St. Maarten, we refueled the plane and cooled breaks during one hour.

Departed to SLLP La Paz airport, technical issues occurred again with autopilot and another issue, the pressurisation system. Autopilot has been disengaged, pilotes flew manually and returned to St. Maarten TNCM airport without any other issue.
As the B757-200 is one of the older plane of the company, we will make some test and see if we will remove it from the fleet.

With 30 peoples aboard, the goal of the Antarctica mission is shift change and supplying. DdD Business is looking to prepare another plane able to replace our 757-200 and land to Antarctica. Certainly our B737-700 HB-DDF

Disaster avoided on the flight TG461 from Bangkok (VTSB) to Melbourne (YMML)

Flight TG461 (Thai Airways International, virtual) departing from Bangkok to Melbourne (Boeing B777-300ER, HS-TKU) , made an emergency landing at Melbourne, without any engine.

All of the 349 passengers are safe and no injurie reported.

Few moment after starting the descent (around FL280), for unknown reasons both R and L engines started to heat and reached a critical temperature.
Pilotes and co-pilotes started procedures to decrease the engines temperature, without success. The temperature didn’t decrease.

Descent with idle throttle until around FL150 and autopilot disengaged, APU started.

Around 12’000FT, both engines L and R turned off suddenly. After processing with the emergency checklist and RAT deployement we received the approval of the Airport to proceed to a direct landing to the runaway 16 (initially planned to 36).
As a big good glider, the B77W descended smoothly with spoiler activated to keep correct speed and altitude. Unfortunately, still failing to restart engines.

Because the speed was too high and there was only one chance, pilote made few turns to decrease the speed enough during the final to land.
With a touch down at around 200kts, the brakes attempt a high temperature quickly. But the plane landed successfully without hard landing at 19:44. Aircraft was completely stopped at the end of the runaway 16 with deployed emergency slides. Emergency services were ready and waited on place.
